What are the Three Wins?

Each day, I aim to achieve three wins: a physical, mental, and spiritual win. This framework has circulated online in various forms, and I started using it because it works with my goal of being intentional across multiple dimensions of well-being. The definitions are intentionally flexible; what constitutes a "spiritual win" for me might be completely different for someone else. At its core, the system emphasizes three daily themes that make me feel fulfilled, accomplished, and well, beyond just being productive.

For years, I relied on handwritten to-do lists. I later experimented with tracking tasks with ChatGPT, hoping AI could track my tasks conveniently and explicitly evaluate three wins based on my personal parameters. However, I found that traditional to-do systems require consistent, structured logic, while AI is not well-suited to maintain that level of reliability. Tasks were sometimes misinterpreted, inconsistently tracked, or lost entirely. While the evaluation aspect was valuable, the system itself was not dependable.

This led me to create a hybrid solution: a structured, logic-driven task system paired with AI for evaluation rather than task management. At its base, a todo list is a classic, simple introductory CS project. For this project however, building a todo list that reliably handles real data, edge cases, and daily use was challenging. The designing, debugging, and optimizing added up more than I expected. In the end I developed a system that tracks and archives daily and weekly tasks, using the Anthropic API to evaluate progress and identify wins. This build lived on my website for a time before I went on to scale it into a live multi-user app that I'm immensely proud of. This blog tracks the build from idea through launch.
